Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed this Tuesday significant progress in ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States, with Pakistan serving as the key mediator.

Speaking publicly, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi underscored that these vital discussions are advancing effectively due to Pakistan’s dedicated diplomatic efforts.

However, the senior Iranian diplomat issued a stern warning to Washington, cautioning that it risks being drawn into broader regional chaos by what he described as “malicious actors” seeking to destabilize the Gulf.

The minister emphasized that such unintended involvement could lead to protracted and unpredictable consequences for all parties involved.

Araqchi decisively reiterated that the recent volatile developments observed in the crucial Strait of Hormuz unequivocally demonstrate the futility of seeking a military solution to a fundamentally political crisis.

The FM explicitly urged Washington to exercise utmost caution and to refrain from any actions that could further aggravate the already delicate regional situation. Furthermore, he extended a parallel plea for prudence to the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the collective responsibility to prevent further instability and ensure regional peace.

These significant diplomatic statements unfold amidst a palpable surge in tensions across the strategic Middle East region. Just recently, Emirati authorities officially reported the detection of multiple cruise missiles and, disturbingly, a large fire at critical oil facilities, incidents that have been widely attributed to a targeted drone attack.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also provided critical context by referencing the controversial “Operation Freedom“, an initiative announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. Araqchi characterized this ambitious project as “very complex”, highlighting the intricate nature of maritime security in such a contested waterway.

According to corroborated U.S. sources, a substantial deployment of approximately 15,000 military personnel was reportedly mobilized to support “Operation Freedom“, specifically aiming to secure the passage of various maritime craft amidst the escalating regional crisis.

These evolving events are unfolding against a backdrop of persistent uncertainty regarding the ultimate trajectory and outcomes of the contacts between Washington and Tehran. While a series of indirect exchanges, diligently mediated by Pakistan, have indeed occurred, no conclusive public results or definitive agreements have been formally announced to date.

The current intense escalation of military tensions between the two powerful nations originally flared up in late February, prompting widespread apprehension. This period of heightened hostility was subsequently followed by a temporary ceasefire implemented in April.

Despite the brief respite, the Strait of Hormuz remains an exceptionally critical flashpoint, indispensable for regional stability and the uninterrupted flow of international trade.
