Venezuela’s defense minister, General Vladimir Padrino López, highlighted the strength and dignity of Venezuela in the face of imperialist threats, highlighting the civic, military and police union in defense of peace as achievements of the Bolivarian process.

In a context of tensions over the US military deployment in the Caribbean, he reaffirmed that the nation must choose between vassalage and patriotism, affirming that the Venezuelan people’s response has been forceful in favor of independence and sovereignty.

Padrino López condemned the repeated threats from Washington, whose pressures represent a challenge to the peace and security of the region of unforeseeable proportions. In that context, he described as degrading the position of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to lend its territory to the protection of American ships, even when its fishermen have been victims of extrajudicial executions perpetrated under the pretext of the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.

“Enough of lies and insults, of imposing power and hegemony by force, of manipulations to achieve their interests,” he said, while adding that for Venezuela it is impossible to return to slavery.

The official also rejected the imperialist maneuvers, calling them not innocent, and announced that the FANB will accompany the Fourth National Popular Consultation.

The Venezuelan people prepare and train to defend the country against possible attacks, participating in defense exercises called by Commander-in-Chief Nicolás Maduro, organizing preparation for armed and unarmed struggle in defense of the nation.

From Caracas to San Cristóbal, millions of Venezuelans have taken to the streets to reject what they consider a direct threat of foreign intervention, in a scenario unprecedented since the coup attempts of 2019.

The mobilizations not only express support for the government but also a historical sense deeply rooted in the Venezuelan people. Various organizations have underscored that the country has faced blockades, unilateral sanctions, economic destabilization, and media campaigns for more than two decades, and that the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier confirms that military pressure continues to be a central instrument of American policy.

In this context, the civic-military unity has become a strategic axis. The cohesion between the FANB (National Bolivarian Armed Forces) and the organized popular power constitutes the main guarantee of dissuasion against any attempt of aggression, recalling the resistance that the country sustained during the coup d’état of 2002 and subsequent episodes of interference that failed to overthrow the Bolivarian Revolution.

The ranks of the Bolivarian Militia have grown in recent weeks, with the incorporation of militias of peasants, fishermen, students, native populations, all determined to confront any military provocation that affects their lives. Faced with the climate of military tension, the Venezuelan people oppose the spirit of integral preparation.
