Citizens across the country hold vigils demanding President Maduro’s release after a month of the U.S. military attack against the country.

Venezuelan citizens organized vigils across Caracas and other states between Monday night and the early hours of Tuesday, February 2 and 3, marking one month since the kidnapping of President Nicolas Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Flores during the U.S. military aggression.

On January 3, U.S. President Donald Trump bypassed congressional approval to conduct bombings in several states -an act in violation of the United Nations Charter and U.S. law itself-, killing approximately 100 people, including 32 Cuban national.

In Caracas, the capital of the country, the main event took place on Urdaneta Avenue in the Altagracia parish, featuring a stage and live music in a pacific demonstration in support to the sovereignty and independence, rejecting the U.S. imperialist interference in internal affairs.

Through this solemn vigil, the people of the South American nation continue to demand respect for their sovereignty and reiterate their firm support for the Bolivarian Revolution.

Earlier during a press conference, the General Secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV, in Spanish), Diosdado Cabello, announced a series of mobilization activities to be held this week to demand the immediate and unconditional return of President Maduro and his wife.

He added that a massive march in Caracas would take place today, February 3rd, for the people to raise their voice against this illegal action against a sovereign nation.
