On Wednesday, Diosdado Cabello, vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), highlighted the strength and unity of the Bolivarian Revolution in the face of external aggression.

In a context marked by the recent U.S. bombardment of Venezuela on Jan. 3, Cabello emphasized that the nation’s leaders, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, police forces and the Venezuelan people remain cohesive and demand the liberation of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.
“We are united as a single bloc. The Bolivarian Revolution is a solid rock; it is our people, it is our Armed Forces, it is our police forces,” he said, reiterating that this civic, military and citizen unity has been demonstrated “time and again.”
Cabello also highlighted support for Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez amid the difficult task of leading the country during aggressions provoked by the “U.S. imperialism’s hunger.”
The PSUV leader denounced the attitude of those who celebrated the bombardment against Venezuela, calling it shameful and asserting they will be defeated by the Venezuelans’ rebellious consciousness.
“Our people are wise and have found a reason to unite with rage and sadness, but with rebellion,” Cabello said, underlining that even opposition sectors could end up united against those who promoted military aggression against Venezuela.
Releases Thanks to Bolivarian Government
As Venezuelan Interior Minister, Cabello also addressed the topic of recent prisoner releases, noting that more than 400 people have been freed in a process seeking the country’s peace and tranquility.
He clarified that these measures do not include those tried for serious crimes such as homicide, drug trafficking or pedophilia. Cabello stressed that those released are not “political prisoners” but individuals who participated in destabilizing actions.
“Today, the one giving them this opportunity is the Bolivarian government and not those who got them into this mess,” Cabello said, recalling violent episodes promoted by extremist sectors, such as the burning of a human being, the thwarted invasion of Feb. 23, the Operation Gideon of May 2, and the attempted coup d’etat of April 30.
The Interior Minister denounced that NGOs such as Provea try to take credit for the releases to profit from detainees’ families. “All these decisions were made unilaterally. The Catholic Church nor any NGO has anything to do with the matter,” he emphasized.
The False Imperial Narrative and The Defense of Peace
Cabello rejected international campaigns that seek to portray Venezuela as a “narco-democracy” or a “repressive and illegitimate state.” These narratives have been discarded by a reality that showed the true U.S. objective was to seize Venezuelan oil and natural resources.
“Today, the world knows what happened in Venezuela and why there is so much campaigning against the Bolivarian nation,” Cabello said, highlighting the figure of President Maduro, who was kidnapped by U.S. forces on Jan. 3.
“Maduro is and will be a man of peace,” the PSUV leader said, highlighting the dignity and bravery shown by the Bolivarian leader and first lady Flores.
Cabello insisted that, despite opposition attempts to stage “shows,” the Venezuelan government’s position has always been to promote dialogue and reconciliation. Finally, the PSUV leader recalled the warnings of the late President Hugo Chavez about the dangers of U.S. imperialism and its intention to invade Venezuela to appropriate its resources.
“Commander Chavez always warned us because he was capable of seeing the future. He pointed out where things were coming from,” he recalled, underlining that the Bolivarian leader’s predictions have come true today.
With these statements, Cabello reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Revolution remains firm, united, and conscious in the face of external aggressions, while advancing processes of reconciliation, defense of national sovereignty and the liberation of President Maduro.
