Venezuela confirmed the arrival of 30 tons of medical supplies from Brazil to support more than 9,000 renal patients within its public health system.

Venezuelan authorities confirmed late Friday the arrival of a 30-ton shipment of medical supplies from Brazil to reinforce the National Hemodialysis and Nephrology Program within the country’s public health system.

Officials said the delivery will help guarantee care for more than 9,000 renal patients across Venezuela, after supplies were affected by what authorities described as a criminal attack by the United States on Ministry of Health warehouses in La Guaira state.

The shipment was received with the participation of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and Brazilian diplomatic representatives. “Together with the representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Armando De Negri, as well as the Minister Counselor of the Embassy of Brazil in Venezuela, Breno Hermann, we received this allocation for the Venezuelan people,” government representatives said.

Authorities stressed that the delivery was made possible through cooperation with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and forms part of a broader agreement between the two countries. They explained that the 30-ton shipment is the first tranche of a total of 300 tons of medical supplies scheduled to arrive progressively during the first months of 2026.

“On behalf of Acting President Delcy Rodríguez and each and every Venezuelan man and woman, we once again thank the Ministry of Health of Brazil for its unconditional support to replenish our inventory that was vilely attacked,” the officials stated.

Venezuelan authorities also reported that an additional shipment of medicines is expected to reach the country in the coming days as part of ongoing strategic partnerships between Venezuela and Brazil.
