Venezuela-Cuba strategic alliance was reaffirmed on September 19, 2025, when Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro received an official Cuban government delegation led by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, at Miraflores Palace in Caracas. This meeting highlights the strong bond between the two nations and their shared commitment to confronting external political and economic pressures.

During the meeting, Maduro conveyed greetings to Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, underlining “how much unites us” in fraternity, history, and common goals. He emphasized the historic moment faced by Latin American and Caribbean peoples as they confront a multifaceted and immoral war designed to destroy revolutions inspired by founding figures such as Simón Bolívar and José Martí.

The dialogue between the two delegations focused on coordinating joint action plans between the Communist Party of Cuba and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). Central to this cooperation is the formation of new youth leadership, considered essential to sustain and deepen resistance against the imperialist harassment afflicting the region.

Maduro stressed that peace is the ultimate goal and definitive victory of these processes, insisting on the need to consolidate unity among countries defending sovereignty, social justice, and the right to self-determination. The event included senior PSUV leaders such as Eduardo Piñate, Pedro Infante, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, Tania Díaz, and Rander Peña, who exchanged views with the Cuban delegation on the regional political and social situation.

The Cuban delegation, which will remain in Venezuela until September 21, strengthens historical cooperation in political, social, and cultural fields, reaffirming both governments’ commitment to Latin American integration and solidarity.

From teleSUR’s perspective, this encounter exemplifies the regional fraternity resisting the US-led imperialist offensive aiming to destabilize revolutionary processes through sanctions, economic blockade, and media campaigns.

Maduro’s message to Cuba demonstrates that the strategic alliance between the two countries is a key element in countering external aggression and in strengthening a bloc of sovereign, united nations capable of facing common challenges and forging a future of peace and social justice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Consolidating these relations also means cooperation in political training, social development, and cultural projects with youth participation, seen as vital for continuing the revolutionary processes shaping the continent’s recent history.

teleSUR will continue covering and supporting these integration and resistance efforts, understanding that defending sovereignty and popular unity is essential to ensuring the well-being and sustainable development of Latin American peoples. This reception reaffirms that only through unity and political will can attempts at external domination and fragmentation be overcome.

Moreover, after being welcomed at Miraflores Palace along with his delegation, Cuban Communist Party Secretary of Organization Roberto Morales Ojeda announced that Cuba will launch next week a signature campaign supporting the Cuban government’s declaration in defense of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Morales highlighted that this support will extend beyond leadership to include the entire Cuban people backing Venezuela against all aggressions. The collection of signatures will be sent to Venezuelan authorities, with millions of Cubans expected to endorse the revolutionary government’s call.

He also called on the international community, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America–Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), and all dignified peoples and governments defending peace.

Morales conveyed warm greetings from Revolutionary leader Raúl Castro and Cuban President and PCC General Secretary Miguel Díaz-Canel. He underscored the unwavering resolve of the Cuban Revolution, Party, government, state, and people to support Venezuela, emphasizing the popular, military, and police unity as the guarantee for continuing the legacy of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez.

Morales praised Venezuela’s admirable resilience in facing political, diplomatic, psychological, and military aggressions, demonstrating the enduring legacy of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez.

He recalled the historic journey of José Martí to Venezuela, where Martí paid homage to the Liberator and pledged, “Venezuela, tell me how I can serve you.” Morales reaffirmed today’s Cuban commitment, echoing Fidel Castro’s 2009 reflection warning against foreign military bases in Latin America and rallying Cubans to give everything for Venezuela.
