Missile attacks hit two schools in Parand days after a deadly strike on a school in Minab that killed 165 people.
United States and Israeli forces carried out missile strikes Thursday against two schools in the Iranian city of Parand, southwest of Tehran, according to reports cited by Iranian media. The incident occurred six days after another school was bombed in the southern city of Minab.

The attack in Parand also caused damage to nearby residential buildings, the Iranian outlet Fars reported. Iranian authorities say the strikes form part of a broader pattern of attacks affecting civilian infrastructure.
The Parand incident follows the Feb. 28 bombing of a school in Minab that left 165 people dead, most of them girls between the ages of seven and twelve. Iranian officials have described the strike as a serious violation of international law.
Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law, schools and residential areas are considered civilian objects and cannot be targeted during armed conflicts. Attacks against such sites constitute serious violations and may amount to war crimes.
After the Minab attack, U.S. officials reportedly said they did not know a school had been struck. Some Israeli sources claimed the location was “part of a base of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.”
Iranian authorities, citing figures from the Red Crescent Society, state that more than 3,600 civilian sites have been damaged in attacks attributed to the United States and Israel. According to the humanitarian organization, 3,643 civilian locations have been affected, including 3,090 homes, 528 commercial centers, 13 medical facilities and nine Red Crescent sites.

Amjad Iraqi, a senior analyst at the International Crisis Group, compared the strikes in Iran with previous attacks on public infrastructure and educational institutions in Palestinian territories.
“We’re seeing in Iran is a continuation and extension of what Israel has been trying to do over the last two and a half years [in Gaza],” the analyst said.
He added that the strategy seeks to dismantle existing systems and cause large-scale destruction. “There is a straight line between what Israel has tried to do… in Gaza, to decimate and completely collapse the systems that existed there, and what we are seeing in Iran, on a much larger and more dangerous scale, to overthrow the Islamic Republic and cause as much devastation as possible,” Iraqi stated.
The reported attacks have intensified concerns about the protection of civilian infrastructure and the impact of military operations on schools and residential areas.
