The Global Sumud Flotilla, with 70 boats and more than a thousand participants, is finalizing preparations to set sail this Sunday from Barcelona towards the Gaza Strip to “pressure the governments” of the world to act to end the Israeli attacks against the Palestinians.

Its spokesman, Saif Abukeshek, indicated this Saturday that it is an initiative of “civilian ships” against the aggressions suffered by the Palestinian and Lebanese people, since Israel and the United States are “violating human rights” in the Middle East, he added in reference also to the war in Iran.
Israel in particular, he recalled, has continued to bomb Lebanese territory even during the truce agreed to try to resolve the serious war crisis in the Middle East.
The same is happening in Gaza, where in six months of truce Israel has killed more than 700 Palestinians.
In this context, Abukeshek said that actions such as that of this civil solidarity fleet with Gaza serve to “pressure the governments” of the world to “intervene and do their job” in favor of the protection of human rights.
In September 2025, a similar initiative was unable to complete the objective of reaching Gaza because the boats were intercepted by Israel.
