During his regular program “Con Maduro+”, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro issued stark warnings about the resurgence of Nazi and fascist ideologies in the modern world. Speaking on the 80th anniversary of the Red Army’s victory over Nazism, Maduro argued that the West—in a state of “political and geopolitical decay”—is attempting to “cover up, erase, and destroy” this historic achievement through what he called “missiles of lies.”

Maduro emphasized that despite these efforts, “they could do little” to obscure “the sun of truth.” His remarks targeted Western leaders who attended commemorations in Ukraine, a country he accused of harboring a “pro-Nazi government.” He further criticized these events for their alleged association with drug use, referencing a “war between white powders.”

The Venezuelan president also questioned Europe’s future, urging that it must not repeat “another war costing millions of lives.” Instead, he expressed confidence that “European people will take to the streets to demand peace and dialogue.”

Maduro’s statements reflect his anti-Western stance and defense of the Soviet legacy in defeating fascism. His rhetoric aligns with global concerns over rising extremism, highlighting the polarized narratives shaping today’s geopolitical discourse.
