During the Military Promotion Ceremony of the Presidential Honor Guard and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), President Nicolas Maduro Moros expressed profound pride in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

He highlighted their unwavering commitment to defending Venezuela against far-right terrorist threats and imperialist aggression, emphasizing their role as the true heirs of Simón Bolívar’s revolutionary army.

President Maduro recalled recent attempts to destabilize Venezuela, including the unprecedented drone attacks, which he described as the first of their kind in world history. “None of you hesitated for a second to step forward in front of the bombs, to stand up and combat a real threat,” he stated, underscoring the bravery and discipline of the FANB personnel.

He also commemorated the FANB’s decisive response on February 23, 2019, when far-right forces attempted to invade Venezuela through Cúcuta, Colombia, Brazil, and the Caribbean. The President praised the military’s steadfast defense during these incursions, including the historic confrontation in Gedeón and the attempted invasion through Macuto, affirming their role in safeguarding the nation’s tranquility.
