The strike on a residential building in Doha complicates ceasefire negotiations.
On Tuesday, the Qatari network Al Jazeera reported that a Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya survived an Israeli airstrike.

The Zionist strike hit a residential building in Doha where the Palestinian negotiators were holding a meeting to discuss the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assumed responsibility for the attack in Qatar, following reports that Israel had informed the United States before the strike on Doha.
“The attack was a fully independent Israeli operation. Israel initiated and carried it out and assumes all responsibility,” his office said, avoiding any direct mention of Qatar.
Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh called the Israeli attack “a grave violation of international law and of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar” that “represents a threat to the security and stability of the region.”
The Israeli strike on Doha comes amid a major push for Gaza ceasefire negotiations led by the United States, in which Qatar is a key mediator.
The attack occurred the same day that Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stated that Israel has accepted the latest proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump for a ceasefire in Gaza, on the condition that all hostages in the strip are released and that Hamas disarms.
Qatar, a primary mediator for a Gaza truce alongside Egypt and the United States, hosts Hamas’s political office in its capital.
