The North African goal briefly threatened the first place of the Dutch team in the live standings, especially with Japan leading in the other group fixture. However, the defensive partnership of Van Dijk and Jan Paul van Hecke quickly restored tactical order and control.

The definitive 3-1 victory materialized in the 62nd minute through another set-piece action. The Brighton & Hove Albion defender, Jan Paul van Hecke, connected with an outstanding header following another brilliant assist from playmaker Tijjani Reijnders to secure the three points.

Following this, Netherlands officially secured their presence in the round of 32, where they will face Morocco. The winner of this upcoming knockout match will face either South Africa or Canada in the round of 16 of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Japan will play against Brazil in the next stage, while Sweden advances as one of the best third-placed teams of the tournament. On the other hand, Tunisia bid farewell to the global competition without scoring a single point in the group stage.
