Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir of leaking confidential cabinet discussions about Red Cross prison visits amid mounting local and international pressure to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross to inspect detention facilities.

According to the Israeli Channel Kan 11, the head of Tel Aviv’s regime expressed frustration during the meeting, stating, “Before and during the cabinet meeting, I saw briefings on Channel 7, Israel Hayom, and other outlets about who supports and who opposes the Red Cross prison visit decision. I don’t operate like this; this item wasn’t even on the agenda. I will make decisions in another forum.”

Ben-Gvir pushed back, claiming Netanyahu himself had been conducting briefings against the army, which had been responding like-wise throughout the week.

The clash follows a July confrontation between Ben-Gvir and Israel’s Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, over proposed expansions of Gaza operations that could endanger captives. The national security minister has also pressed to continue the genocidal campaign against the enclave, urging the finance minister to block efforts toward a ceasefire or a deal for the release of captives.

News outlets from the Zionist entity note that conflicts over Palestinian prisoner policies are spilling into the open, exposing significant rifts in both decision-making and communication strategies among Knesseth members.
