The US Department of Justice released a massive batch of documents linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex crimes. The release comprises three million files, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos, constituting the largest declassification since the passage of the law that mandated its publication in 2023.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated that the process responds to the demands for transparency from the American public, despite having exceeded the initial deadline by six weeks.

The files detail Epstein’s final days in prison, including psychological reports and records of his death in federal custody, as well as material related to the investigation of his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
However, media attention has focused on the correspondence with high-profile international figures.
Among the findings are emails and files with “The Duke,” presumably Prince Andrew (Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor), discussing private dinners at Buckingham Palace and a proposal from Epstein to introduce him to a 26-year-old Russian woman in 2010, two years after his conviction for soliciting sex from a minor.
Messages from Sarah Ferguson, the Duke’s ex-wife, dated April 2009, were also revealed, in which she expressed interest in meeting Epstein for tea in Palm Beach while he was under house arrest. In the email, Ferguson requested advice for her Mother’s Army business venture and described the financier as a “spectacular” friend and a “legend.”
In the political sphere, Donald Trump is mentioned in hundreds of entries, although the Department of Justice clarified that many correspond to unverified allegations received by the FBI before the 2020 elections.
Nevertheless, the documents include testimonies that directly link him to sexual abuse, such as the statement: “We were forced to allow penetration. I was 13 years old when Donald J. Trump raped me.” Furthermore, events called “Calendar Girls” parties at Mar-a-Lago are described, where, according to file EFTA01660679, minors were subjected to “tightening tests.”
Thor Halvorssen
The name of Thor Halvorssen, cousin of Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo López, has surfaced in connection with child sex trafficking, raising questions about international power networks.

“Halvorssen is known as the founder of the Human Rights Foundation, an organization that was linked to the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan far-right activist Maria Corina Machado,” the newspaper El Universal reported.
Lopez and Machado were the leading promoters of the 2014 coup plan known as “The Exit” (La Salida), which resulted in a spiral of violence that caused civilian deaths, left hundreds injured and inflicted millions of dollars in damage on the country’s public infrastructure.
Broader Geopolitical and Political Context
The Epstein scandal, centered on a child sex trafficking ring involving powerful figures, has long been used as a political weapon by all parties.
During his 2024 campaign, Trump promised transparency regarding the files; however, he missed the initial deadline before Congress forced compliance through legislation.
Media outlets like teleSUR in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Global South view the revelations as evidence of systemic U.S. hypocrisy, contrasting lectures on human rights with exploitation scandals among U.S. elites.
The documents also mention figures such as Bill Clinton, Elon Musk, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, although criminal links have not been confirmed in most cases.
The Epstein Files released under the Trump administration underscore that abuse networks transcend political boundaries and implicate segments of the elite.
Despite the president’s denials and dismissal of allegations, international scrutiny of his past and the system continues to reveal a necessary but sobering truth about the depths of dehumanization.
