The eight groups bring together established contenders, in-form sides and debutants, shaping an early phase marked by competitive balance and geographically demanding fixtures.

Group A features Brazil’s Flamengo alongside Argentina’s Estudiantes de La Plata, Peru’s Cusco and Colombia’s Independiente Medellín. The lineup combines historical pedigree with contrasting styles, pointing to tightly contested matches from the outset.

In Group C, Fluminense will face Bolivia’s Bolívar, Venezuela’s Deportivo La Guaira and Argentina’s Independiente Rivadavia, one of the tournament’s newcomers. Fixtures in La Paz are expected to play a decisive role, as altitude conditions have historically influenced results in the competition.

Group D stands out for its parity, bringing together Boca Juniors and Cruzeiro with Universidad Católica of Chile and Barcelona of Ecuador. Each side enters with continental experience, making the group one of the most competitive in the draw.

Palmeiras leads Group F, where it will face Paraguay’s Cerro Porteño, Colombia’s Junior and Peru’s Sporting Cristal. Despite its status as a leading contender, the Brazilian side will navigate demanding away matches across the region.

Group G includes Liga de Quito and Argentina’s Lanús as main contenders, alongside Bolivia’s Always Ready and Brazil’s Mirassol, another debutant seeking to establish itself at continental level.

Group H reflects the broader balance of the competition. Independiente del Valle of Ecuador will face Paraguay’s Libertad, Argentina’s Rosario Central and Venezuela’s Universidad Central, in a group where margins are expected to be narrow.

With the groups now confirmed, the tournament enters a decisive phase in which early results will shape the race for qualification to the knockout rounds and the continental title.
