Israel’s occupation forces launched intensive airstrikes targeting residential buildings and refugee camps in Lebanon this Thursday, raising the death toll and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The Israeli occupation forces killed at least ten civilians on May 28 during massive airstrikes across southern Lebanon, targeting residential buildings and infrastructure in the districts of Tyre and Saida.
The Lebanese National News Agency confirmed that the Israeli military perpetrated a massacre on the Adloun highway, located north of Tyre. A direct drone strike hit a civilian car, causing the death of six people, including several children.

In the Qiyaa neighborhood of Saida, another targeted strike hit a multi-family apartment building, killing three civilians and injuring five others. Local emergency responders confirmed that the destroyed structure housed an internally displaced family who had previously fled the ongoing violence in the southern border areas.
Additionally, Israeli drones carried out strikes against civilian motorists in key urban zones. An aerial attack on a motorcycle along the public housing street in Tyre killed two people, while another unmanned vehicle attacked a motorcycle in Bazouriyeh.
Recently, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported that an attack on Wednesday in the Al-Bass area of Tyre killed three people and wounded 37 others, including eight children and 13 women. Furthermore, the Lebanese Armed Forces announced that one soldier was killed when a direct strike hit his vehicle on the Zifta-Deir Zahrani highway in the Nabatieh district.
Destroying Civil Infrastructure
The Israeli air force has systematically focused its heavy munitions on vital urban facilities and historical neighborhoods. In Tyre, tactical aircraft executed direct strikes against a civilian commercial building and a local cafeteria located on the busy Hiram Street.
These strikes caused the total collapse of surrounding structures on Al-Halwani Street and throughout the neighborhoods of Al-Rifai, Jumblatt and Al-Athar. Simultaneously, Israeli operations hit the Rashidieh and Bass refugee camps, which house thousands of vulnerable Palestinian and Lebanese families who have no alternative shelter.
The aerial offensive also extended to several southern towns, including Deir Zahrani, Zibqin, Al-Mansouri, Touline, Al-Ghassaniyah and Qaqaiyat al-Sanoubar. These coordinated strikes have damaged power grids, water networks and basic administrative facilities, rendering entire municipalities uninhabitable.
Mounting Human Toll
Emergency rescue teams face immense operational difficulties because of the continuous presence of reconnaissance drones. In Jebchit, a local strike wounded three civilians and severely damaged residential homes, forcing families to clear the rubble with limited manual tools.
According to the latest figures released by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, the Israeli aggression has resulted in a cumulative total of 3,269 deaths and 9,840 injuries in Lebanon since March 2. This escalating humanitarian crisis has completely overwhelmed regional medical facilities.
Local healthcare workers warn that the blockades and destroyed roads prevent critical medical shipments from reaching field hospitals. Despite the systematic destruction, local grassroots organizations and social groups continue to coordinate relief efforts, demonstrating the resilience of the Lebanese people against the occupying forces.
