President Pezeshkian praised national unity as a shield against foreign aggression.

On Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro that the Persian nation supports Venezuela’s territorial integrity and its people.

“Iran’s experience has demonstrated that the failure of the United States and the Zionist regime’s objectives against our country is due to national unity and internal solidarity, which have granted an inexhaustible power to our nation. As long as this unity is maintained, no foreign power will be capable of harming our countries,” Pezeshkian said.

During a phone call, Pezeshkian and Maduro exchanged views on global geopolitics, especially following provocative U.S. actions against Venezuela, as well as on strategies to expand and deepen bilateral relations.

“Iran vehemently condemns any aggression against the territorial integrity of countries and, with all its capabilities, supports the Venezuelan territorial integrity. We hope that, under the shadow of the unity and solidarity achieved in Venezuela, your country remains victorious and proud on the path of dignity and progress,” Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian president also reiterated his rejection of actions contrary to international law perpetrated by the United States around the world. At the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, for example, “the U.S. unilateralism and the instrumental use of force against peoples under false pretenses were criticized and condemned,” the Persian leader recalled.

For his part, President Maduro affirmed that his country is confronting U.S. threats with full national cohesion. “Venezuela has achieved a power that keeps us protected and steadfast in the face of any threat, thanks to the exemplary unity between the government, the people and the Armed Forces,” he said, criticizing U.S. psychological operations directed against the Bolivarian nation.

“Through false narratives, the United States seeks to discredit Venezuela’s image. Those narratives, however, are not even accepted within the U.S. public opinion,” Maduro said.

“We live in total tranquility. Nevertheless, with firmness and full preparation, we will remain steadfast against any potential threat. The participation of more than 8 million Venezuelans in response to the call to defend the country reflects the national spirit and firm determination of our nation,” he added.

“Today, Iran and Venezuela are more united than ever,” President Maduro concluded, expressing support for the Iranian government and people.
