A high-level source from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry officially confirmed Araghchi’s arrival in Islamabad on Friday night. The Pakistani Government has consistently urged the United States to implement measures aimed at rebuilding trust with Tehran, seeing this as a critical step to facilitate the eventual resumption of stalled negotiation processes.
This call reflects a shared regional interest in stability and a desire to avoid further escalation, positioning Pakistan as a potential mediator or facilitator in future diplomatic endeavors between Iran and Western powers.
Despite the reported presence of a U.S. logistics and security delegation in the Pakistani capital, Araghchi will not engage in any negotiations with United States representatives.
