Venezuela will begin a national pilgrimage on April 19th, led by Delcy Rodríguez, to protest against the economic sanctions affecting the country.
The mobilization, coinciding with the anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence, will unite various sectors throughout the national territory, starting in the states of Zulia, Táchira, and Amazonas, and extending for two weeks.
Delcy Rodriguez, acting president of Venezuela, emphasized that this call transcends partisan differences, inviting civil society to join under the premise of sovereignty.
The pilgrimage includes a diverse agenda that incorporates cultural expressions, faith demonstrations, and popular marches in each federal entity, including Guayana Esequiba on April 22nd.
For his part, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, led a meeting with representatives of various opposition parties in the Federal Legislative Palace last February. The meeting focused on consolidating the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence as a fundamental axis to strengthen dialogue strategies in the face of national mobilizations.
The closing of this great mobilization is scheduled for May 1st, coinciding with International Workers’ Day, through a massive national march in the country’s capital.
Authorities hope that this itinerant demonstration will serve as a unique call to the international community to demand respect for economic freedoms and the well-being of the Venezuelan people.
The National Government ratified that fruitful dialogue with all sectors is the way to overcome current difficulties and preserve stability.
With this great mobilization, Venezuela seeks to demonstrate its determination to move towards sustainable development and economic growth free from external obstacles and financial pressures.
