The organizers are urging citizens to take their grievances to the streets, citing reports of patients dying because hospitals lack medication, as well as disappearances, kidnappings and extortion.

In a video circulated on social media, the young activists say the mobilization brings together people affected by these problems, including relatives of kidney patients, victims of insecurity and people experiencing poverty and inequality.

The organizers also reject the portrayal of protesters as criminals or terrorists, which they attribute to Noboa. They describe themselves as citizens demanding answers from the authorities.

Calling for people to move beyond expressing their concerns online, the activists have framed the demonstration around national unity. Their stated aim is to rally under Ecuador’s flag in defense of dignity, justice and a better future.

The planned protest comes amid structural problems in Ecuador’s healthcare system, including overcrowded services and shortages of specialists and medical supplies. The organizers have called for the demonstration to take place on a national public holiday.
