The incident occurred amid President Donald Trump’s order for the federal government to take control of the capital’s police force and deploy the National Guard to combat crime in the city.

On Sunday night, Dunn, 37, confronted a group of U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents, shouted that they were “fascists,” and threw a sandwich at one of them, hitting him in the chest.

“If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said, announcing that Dunn had been fired from the Justice Department.

According to Bondi, the fact that Dunn worked at the Justice Department is an example of the existence of a “Deep State,” which allegedly resisting the implementation of Trump’s orders.

“You will not work in this administration if you disrespect our government and our law enforcement,” Bondi said.

Since the Trump administration took over security duties in Washington D.C., hundreds of federal agents have patrolled the capital’s streets and set up vehicle checkpoints at various locations throughout the city.
