Professor Jon Qu, from Minzu Journalism University and a commentator for CGTN, in a special interview with Telesur, stated that the actions of the United States against Venezuela and its president, Nicolás Maduro, constitute a “total violation of international law” and described the kidnapping as the most egregious act of its offensive.

The analyst pointed out that President Donald Trump’s strategy of attacking different countries around the world is an attempt to “seize all the resources they have and concentrate where they can really exert influence,” prioritizing areas close to the US and weakening progressive movements in South America.
“They are trying to recover all the resources from afar and return to the territory closest to the US and then eliminate the leftist movements in South America,” he stated.
This stance has provoked growing international criticism of US policies toward Latin America, especially regarding sanctions and diplomatic pressure against developing governments.

“At a time when the empire and its misguided chief approve CIA covert operations against Venezuela, we express our solidarity with that sister nation and, especially, with President Nicolas Maduro,” the Cuban leader said.
