Brazil’s Federal Police are investigating a complex financial structure in Texas linked to former congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of ex‑President Jair Bolsonaro, over suspected money laundering and judicial evasion — specifically whether funds from a film production were used to purchase a mansion in Arlington, circumventing asset freezes imposed by the Supreme Federal Court.

The probe centers on a residence in Arlington valued at 3.6 million reais (approximately 700.000 USD) adquired in February last year by Mercury Legacy Trust, a private fund controlled by Eduardo Bolsonaro’s immigration and business attorney in the Unites States, Paulo Calixto, whom also manages the HeavengateFund, which received part of 61 million reais (about 11 million USD) transferred by former banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Brazil’s Banco Master.

Those transfers, carried out between February and May 2025 through the company Entre Investimentos e Participações, were allegedly mediated by Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, Eduardo’s brother. The stated purpose was to finance a film production conceived by Mario Frias, a former special secretary of Culture. However, the Federal Police suspect the film project was a facade, and that part of the money was diverted to protect Eduardo Bolsonaro’s assets and subsidize his stay in the United States, beyond the reach of Brazilian justice.

Purchase documents also name André Porciúncula, a former military police officer and former aide to Frias, whom allies describe as the main operator of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s logistics on U.S. soil. In their defenses, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro admitted requesting the funds from Banco Master’s owner but denied the money was used to support his brother abroad.

Eduardo Bolsonaro called the investigation “weak,” arguing his visa and immigration status prevent him from receiving investment funds. He defended Calixto’s suitability and said the film production is structured as American to avoid “political persecution in Brazil.”

André Porciúncula stated the Arlington house has no connection to Eduardo Bolsonaro or Banco Master, adding that information about the property’s true beneficiary “is not in the public interest.”
