Bolivia Reports Telesur’s Departure From Its Programming Schedule Due to Administrative Issues

The state-owned National Telecommunications Company S.A. (Entel S.A) of Bolivia has announced the removal of the television channels teleSUR and Russia TV from its lineup, citing “administrative issues.”

In a publication dated January 15, Entel notified its users and the general public that, “as of January 17, 2026, the television channels Russia TV (204) and Telesur (206) will be removed from the lineup in the fiber optic IPTV, satellite DTH television, and Entel TV Smart App services, due to administrative issues.”

In November 2019, under the government of Jeanine Añez, Entel terminated its contract with teleSUR, initially citing “technical problems” and then “reorganization of the television grid.”

“In accordance with the reorganization of the television grid, we inform you of our intention to terminate the General Conditions of Transmission of the signal of the new Television of the South,” stated a letter signed by the national client manager of Entel, disclosed on Twitter, now X.

In November 2020, the Government, under the presidency of Luis Arce, announced the return of the teleSUR multimedia platform signal to Bolivia, after a year off the air in the Andean nation.
