A Pakistani resident was killed in the latest strike, Saudi authorities said, following a weekend of attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi movement.

One person was killed and 11 others injured in an attack on Riyadh airport on Sunday, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Aviation Authority said, as a series of strikes attributed to Yemen’s Houthi movement targeted Saudi territory over the weekend.

The victim was a Pakistani resident, the authority said in a statement posted on X. The injured were taken to hospital, and authorities were assessing the material damage caused by the attack.

The latest strike followed two days of attacks on the airport. On Saturday, 13 people were killed in an assault on Riyadh International Airport, while a separate strike damaged a terminal and triggered a fire. Sunday’s incident marked the third consecutive day of bombings at the site, according to the report.

In official statements, Yemen’s Houthi movement warned international airlines against operating in Saudi airspace, except over Mecca and Medina. The group also urged employees at Saudi oil facilities to stay away from sites it identified as potential military targets.

Saudi Arabia, a key US ally in the region, has been part of the coalition intervening in Yemen since 2015. The latest attacks have brought the effects of the conflict onto Saudi territory, with the kingdom’s airport infrastructure among the reported targets.
