Recently, ATE reported that more than three thousand people were removed from their jobs in the last week and others had their employment contracts renewed for only 90 days.
On Thursday, the State Workers Association (ATE) of Argentina is set to hold a day of struggle and a popular pot to denounce thousands of layoffs in the public administration and the complex situation of wage earners.

During a federal plenary held in this capital, more than a thousand delegates from all over the country decided to continue with a plan of action against the policies of Javier Milei’s government and demanded wage increases that would allow citizens to cope with the difficult socio-economic scenario.
“The only possibility we have to stop the nightmare we have been living for seven months is to be in the streets and multiply the protests throughout the country,” said the union’s secretary general, Rodolfo Aguiar.
“Their mask is beginning to fall off. In 200 days they have not been able to prove the existence of a single employee who receives a salary without working. We have a guillotine that falls on our heads every three months (in reference to dismissals) and every day they invent positions that do not exist in order to appoint friends with millionaire salaries,” Aguiar said.
Recently, ATE reported that more than three thousand people were removed from their jobs in the last week and others had their employment contracts renewed for only 90 days.
We demand the immediate reinstatement of all those dismissed and a wage increase to lift state employees out of the poverty into which the government’s economic measures have plunged them. We hope that they will not even think of repressing again. We are not afraid of them. Institutional violence and those who provoke it never end well, Aguiar affirmed.
