The Argentina’s Government organized a concrete humanitarian rescue mission this Friday to support Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that struck the Caribbean nation on June 24.

An official statement delivered by the Argentinean Government Spokesperson, Adrián Ravier, has established the new public guidelines for the rescue mission.

During the immediate hours following the massive earthquakes, the Argentina’s Presidency had only expressed general diplomatic solidarity and a basic willingness to provide humanitarian assistance. Two days later, this initial gesture has evolved into a concrete operational scheme that includes specialized rescue personnel, military aircraft, advanced technical equipment and vital resources.

Official sources confirmed that the rescue team departed from the base of El Palomar and had scheduled stops at Viru Viru and Manaos, with arrival at the Libertador Air Base, in Aragua.

“In ten hours (the mission) will be operating and bringing a friendly hand to the people who are so in need, I came to call off the Argentine soldiers, men and women“, said Defense Minister Carlos Presti.

This specialized assistance addresses the critical need for rapid intervention to save the lives of citizens who remain trapped under the rubble in locations like La Guaira and Caracas.

Text reads: “Today, the Armed Forces deployed from El Palomar Air Base as part of a humanitarian assistance operation in response to the devastation caused by earthquakes in La Guaira, Venezuela…”

The mission includes four specialized brigades from the National Search and Rescue System, equipped with advanced reconnaissance drones and structural collapse experts trained to locate survivors in unstable ruins, while in a forthcoming trip it is expected to bring two water treatment plants and a medical group of doctors from different specialties.

The search operations are reinforced by specialized canine units from both the Argentinean Navy and the Army, which are trained to detect life signs beneath heavy concrete debris.

According to the Government Spokesperson, Adrián Ravier, Argentina will be available to help with emergent doctors with complete equipment, medicines, an ambulance, nurses and assistants.

Argentina’s Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno communicated this Friday with his Venezuelan counterpart, Yván Gil, to formalize the solidarity of the South American nation and coordinate the logistical deployment of the rescue teams. The Foreign Minister confirmed that technical teams from both countries remain in permanent contact and coordination to ensure a seamless integration of the foreign aid.

This international cooperation arrives at a critical moment as Venezuelan emergency agencies continue to manage the aftermath of the seismic events. Both Governments confirmed they will maintain open lines of communication to adjust the humanitarian aid scheme as the recovery phase progresses in the affected states.

For her part, Acting President Delcy Rodriguez expressed the recognition of the Venezuelan Government to the Argentina’s support. In her publication on X, the Rodriguez highlighted the gesture of solidarity in the midst of tragedy. “On behalf of the Venezuelan people, we thank the Argentinean Republic for its message of solidarity and support in the face of this tragedy that engulfs all of Venezuela“, she stated.

This coordinated regional action addresses the severe humanitarian crisis caused by the consecutive 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes. The Venezuelan authorities are conducting a wide-ranging search of rubble as they continue to assist those affected, restore basic services and care for thousands of people who have lost their homes. As the hours passed, international aid began to arrive from different countries to reinforce rescue operations and humanitarian assistance.
