ALBA-TCP expressed its categorical and unequivocal condemnation of the new colonialist threat issued by the U.S. President against the Venezuelan sovereignty.
Through a statement the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) issued an energetic condemnation to the new colonialist threat issued by the President of the United States Donald Trump against the sovereignty of Venezuela’s airspace.

The Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc indicated that Trump’s announcement -qualified as deeply hostile, disproportionate and incompatible with international law- “constitutes an act of political aggression which reaffirms Washington’s imperial conduct against the free peoples of Latin America.”
The statement also affirms that this threat is part of a geopolitical design aimed at eroding the self-determination of Latin American and Caribbean states through military, economic and diplomatic pressures, an old interventionist pattern of those administrations that still believe that have the right “to dictate our skies, our borders and our destiny.”
“To pretend to exercise extraterritorial jurisdiction over Venezuelan territory, impose orders or condition the integrity of its airspace is not only illegal, but constitutes an arrogant provocation against the entire region“, ALBA-TCP denounced.
A warn to the international community
The communique also warned the international community that this “offensive coincides with the unilateral decision of the U.S. Government to suspend regular flights intended for the repatriation of Venezuelans in the framework of the Mission Return to the Homeland, an action which directly affects families, children and migrant workers and “confirms that Washington is willing to manipulate the migration drama as an instrument of political blackmail.”
In its statatement, ALBA-TCP firmly asserted that any intimidation against the Bolivarian Republic constitutes a threat to all sovereign states in the Latin America and the Caribbean region. In this sense, the Bolivarian Alliance reaffirmed that its peoples will be able to defend their sovereignty and defeat any attempt of U.S. imperialism domination.
