His comments come amid warnings from leading AI companies about growing risks associated with the technology.

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump said artificial intelligence (AI) does not need any controls beyond the fact that he is the president of the country.

“The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!,” he posted on Truth Social.

“The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’ — and we will continue to do so! We already have tremendous CRIMINAL and REGULATORY power over these companies!”

“There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China. WHOEVER WINS AI, WINS! We are leading China, and all others, and will continue to do so. Conspiracy Theorists, Treasonists, Traitors, and Leakers, BEWARE!,” the U.S. president stressed.

Trump’s statements come amid controversy sparked by warnings from leading companies developing artificial intelligence about the technology’s growing risks.

On Saturday, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an essay urging the industry to adopt “a slower pace” in the face of growing AI security risks, a warning that was echoed by his rivals Sam Altman of OpenAI and Elon Musk of xAI.

Previously, in an interview with Forbes News, the Republican leader also spoke about establishing regulations for the AI industry.

“Well, I say this: Look, we’re leading China in AI. We’re the most sophisticated country in the world, and frankly, I want to keep it that way because whoever wins AI wins. We can put guardrails, we can do this and that, but I think you have a lot of negative forces that are bringing it up that shouldn’t be bringing it up. They’re bringing up things that won’t happen. But whoever wins with AI wins.”
