Accompanied by parliamentarian Jorge Rodríguez, she reviewed damage to homes, transport infrastructure and public services along the coastline, one of the areas affected by the recent seismic activity. The inspection was part of the government’s ongoing efforts to assess conditions and coordinate emergency response measures.

After the overflight, the acting president said government teams remain deployed across affected areas to inspect damaged homes and determine which are safe for residents to reoccupy.

She also announced the launch of a comprehensive psychological support program for people affected by the earthquakes, alongside special rapid-construction housing projects intended to provide permanent solutions for displaced families.

The High Command for Temporary Camps, she said, continues overseeing shelters established for residents whose homes were destroyed or who were evacuated as a precaution.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining medical services, logistical support, food supplies, comprehensive healthcare, accommodation and other assistance for people affected by the earthquakes.

The acting president also called on residents to remain calm, saying authorities are maintaining continuous monitoring of seismic activity in coordination with the Venezuelan Seismological Research Foundation (Funvisis).

Citizen protection and volunteer support

The working agenda also included a visit to Sector A of Los Caracas Vacation City, which has been designated as a logistics center and temporary shelter for people displaced by the earthquakes. Families from different parts of La Guaira are currently being accommodated at the site.

Youth groups and volunteers have organized support teams to provide personalized assistance in accommodations equipped with household appliances and sanitary facilities.

According to the government, the Bolivarian Social Protection System is providing comprehensive assistance at the site, including a continuous food supply and permanent medical care.
