The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, inaugurated this Friday the Hydrocarbon Technological and Data Management Center, a strategic complex of the state-owned PDVSA designed to consolidate the sovereignty, processing, and governance of technical information for the national oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.

After a tour of the facility, Rodríguez asserted that it is “a center that, through technological support, will allow us to have predictive models for field maintenance, improve productive capacities, and for the application of artificial intelligence to also support these processes.”

The infrastructure is shaping up to be a cutting-edge technological hub, integrating advanced storage capabilities, industrial cybersecurity, automation, and AI.

It was conceived to house three fundamental operational pillars: the Sovereign Oil and Gas Data Bank, which safeguards over 800 terabytes of critical geoscientific information; the Executive Directorate of Automation, Informatics, and Telecommunications (AIT) of PDVSA, responsible for the infrastructure and security of critical systems; and the Vice Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Productive Efficiency in Hydrocarbons, an entity dedicated to innovation and optimization of productive processes.

Distributed over four levels, the building has a modern visualization room located on the first floor, equipped with high-level digital display technology.

This space will allow investors and specialized companies to conduct detailed analyses of multimodal geoscientific packages, including 2D and 3D seismic data, well logs, and reservoir studies, in order to accurately assess the country’s prospective potential.

The facilities facilitate the operational convergence necessary for decision-making based on predictive models and advanced analytics. The inauguration of this center consolidates other actions for the development of the industry.

On Wednesday, and as part of the work agenda for the second phase of the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without Sanctions and in Peace, the acting president visited the facilities of the strategic Simón Bolívar Latin American Training and Certification Center in Drilling.
