The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that seven Palestinian children have died from malnutrition in Gaza, following Israel’s total blockade since March 2, which has prevented humanitarian and food aid from entering the enclave.
WHO Representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Rick Peeperkorn, warned that 71,000 children under the age of five are at imminent risk of acute malnutrition due to lack of food and medical access.
Currently, 500,000 Gazans are trapped in extreme conditions of hunger, disease, and death, making this one of the worst food crises worldwide.
Medical Supplies Blocked
The WHO accused Israel of rejecting 50% of requests to allow emergency medical supplies into Gaza. No humanitarian shipments have entered for over 72 days, leaving the healthcare system nearly collapsed.
Essential medications—including antibiotics, insulin, anesthetics, hygiene products, and medical equipment—remain stockpiled at the border, while Palestinians die waiting for aid.
International Condemnation
Human rights organizations have denounced the systematic obstruction of humanitarian assistance as a war crime and a crime against humanity.
