‘We are not aggressors. Today, more than ever, we need unity and cohesion. All Iranians must come together,’ Pezeshkian said.
During a meeting in Parliament on Monday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the U.S. violates international norms and allows Israel to invade Iran, a country that has responded to Zionist aggression in legitimate defense of its sovereignty.

“We did not want war, and we did not start it. We were not the ones who killed our commanders and scientists. It was the terrorists who did that. What crime did a scientist commit for someone to come from the other side of the world to destroy their family?” Pezeshkian asked, recalling that Israeli attacks occurred while Iran was engaged in indirect negotiations with the U.S. over its peaceful nuclear program.
“We have the right to use nuclear energy and conduct research that benefits society,” he said, stressing that his nation does not avoid negotiations nor intends to develop nuclear weapons.
On this matter, Pezeshkian noted that Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s religious beliefs and policies prohibit the production and use of weapons of mass destruction.
“We are not aggressors. Today, more than ever, we need unity and cohesion. All Iranians must come together… We must set aside current differences and problems and firmly confront this criminal genocide,” he emphasized, stating that even if the Zionist state employs assassination, violence, and terror, it will not deter Iranians from their struggle for peace, social justice, and development.
“Behind every hero whose flag is torn from their hands, hundreds more will rise to take up that flag and resist the oppression, brutality, crimes, and betrayal perpetrated by Israel,” he pointed out.
On June 13, Israel launched attacks against Iranian military sites, civilian locations, and facilities linked to its peaceful nuclear program. So far, the Israeli aggression has killed 224 Iranians and wounded over 1,200. In response, Iran carried out Operation True Promise 3, firing hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles at Zionist military and strategic installations.
Among other targets, Iranian missiles struck the Haifa port, Ben Gurion Airport, the Rafael weapons factory, the Defense Ministry, Nevatim Air Base, energy facilities, and sites producing fuel for aircraft and drones. According to Israeli media, Iran’s defensive actions resulted in the deaths of 23 settlers.
