Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has arrived in Moscow to attend the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War Victory, marking eight decades since the Soviet Red Army’s defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
During his visit, President Maduro will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, where the two leaders are expected to sign a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement. Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov emphasized the deal’s significance, noting it will deepen long-term collaboration in critical areas between both nations.
Ushakov added that the meeting reflects ongoing political dialogue, with discussions focusing on global security, counterterrorism efforts, and preserving historical memory.
President Maduro will also join other world leaders at commemorative events honoring WWII heroes. Over 30 international dignitaries are expected in Moscow, underscoring the event’s geopolitical relevance amid current global tensions.
