Polling stations in Venezuela closed after a peaceful and efficient election day, with over 21.5 million voters electing mayors, councilors, and participating in the National Youth Consultation, signaling a vibrant exercise in popular sovereignty and democratic resilience.

On July 27, 2025, polling stations across Venezuela began closing after a day marked by civility, order, and active participation. More than 21.5 million Venezuelans exercised their right to vote in elections to choose 335 mayors and over 2,400 municipal councilors.

This electoral event also included the countrys first National Popular Consultation of Youth, engaging young people directly in decision-making through votes on over 37,000 community projects.

Jorge Rodriguez, head of the VEN25+ Campaign and the Unified Command of the Bolivarian Revolution, hailed the elections as potentially the largest victory for the revolutionary movement in municipal history.

Rodriguez emphasized the high voter turnout and the historic involvement of youth in the Popular Consultation, which charts a path for local policymaking rooted in popular participation.

Rodriguez further highlighted how the youths aspirations were reflected in the seven selected projects ,including initiatives focused on children with special needs and digital centers , demonstrating an innovative approach to grassroots democracy.

He praised the preparedness of President Nicolas Maduro to support these projects with dedicated resources, affirming that development aligned with popular will was already underway.

The National Electoral Council (CNE) officials reported a smooth electoral process characterized by order and efficiency, with no incidents reported throughout the day. International observers verified the transparency and integrity of the vote.

Jorge Rodriguez noted with pride that 56 political organizations participated without conflict, reflecting Venezuelas commitment to peaceful political expression.

Rodriguez also pointed out the resilience of the Venezuelan people who, despite facing intense external aggression, continue advancing toward the restoration of a welfare state dedicated to social justice. He credited the CNE for its professionalism in administering an election of this scale, reinforcing Venezuelas electoral sovereignty.
