Slander is part of a psychological warfare operation designed to please the Venezuelan far right, Saab said.
On Friday, Venezuela’s Attorney General Tarek William Saab denounced as “grotesque and infamous” the US$50 million reward announced by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in exchange for information leading to the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

“This infamy constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, an attack on our sovereignty, and a gross intrusion into the internal affairs of a sovereign state,” Saab said.
“The U.S. continues to rely on practices characteristic of colonial regimes that have been universally rejected for centuries, using its judicial apparatus as a tool for global political persecution. This action is part of a psychological warfare and propaganda operation, designed to please the Venezuelan far right and to sow chaos amid an electoral and political context where they have already been defeated through democratic means.”
“To attempt to link the Venezuelan president with criminal organizations such as the Aragua Train or the Sinaloa Cartel is not only a vile slander, but a desperate attempt to build an artificial case that does not withstand even the most basic technical, legal, or serious scrutiny,” Saab said.
“In the face of that false and malicious narrative, there is an irrefutable truth: The Venezuelan state, under the leadership of President Maduro and in coordination with justice system institutions, including the Attorney General’s Office, has pursued a firm, sustained, and effective policy against organized crime, drug trafficking, and all forms of transnational crime.”
“Our homeland will not bow down. Our dignity is not for sale. And those who seek to destabilize our democratic and republican institutions will find in this Public Ministry a firm, constitutional voice committed to justice, truth, and peace,” Saab concluded emphatically.
On Wednesday, before U.S. prosecutor Bondi made her arbitrary and bold claims, President Maduro had accused the administration of President Donald Trump of financing a “fascist conspiracy” against Venezuela. He called on Bolivarian civil and military authorities to fine-tune plans to guarantee the country’s peace and security.
