On July 27, 2025, Venezuela witnessed a profound demonstration of popular sovereignty as 100% of polling stations opened nationwide for the municipal elections and the National Youth Popular Consultation.

Carlos Quintero, Vice President of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE), confirmed the smooth and secure execution of the voting process throughout the country. These elections encapsulate the Bolivarian vision of deepening democracy by integrating youth voices and local governance in an unprecedented electoral fusion.

Speaking after voting at the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento National Bolivarian Educational Unit in Caracas’ El Recreo parish, Carlos Quintero highlighted the flawless operational status of all 335 municipalities’ polling sites.

The CNE’s robust technical and logistical system, supported by the Plan República and over 379,000 active Operation Republic officials, ensures an atmosphere of peace and order that safeguards voter participation and expression.

Entities such as Corpoelec, the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, Civil Protection, CANTV, and Movilnet have coordinated extensively. Over 1,200 contingency collection centers, alongside more than 700 operators in 24 rapid response units, facilitate real-time electoral oversight, reinforcing transparency and the integrity of the process.

This election transcends conventional municipal voting, combining the selection of local authorities with the National Youth Popular Consultation , a groundbreaking initiative empowering young people to shape policy through 5,336 carefully chosen community projects.

These initiatives emerged from vigorous grassroots debate, reflecting the revolutionary principle of ‘power to the people’ championed by the Bolivarian government.

Quintero stressed that this fusion “consolidates a full exercise of democracy,” reminding citizens that the process closes the constitutional electoral cycle which included the 2024 presidential election and 2025 legislative sessions, further embedding participatory democracy as Venezuela’s political foundation.

The text reads: The Vice President of Venezuela’s National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero, highlighted the calm with which the electoral day and the popular consultation are taking place.

In a show of solidarity and the sovereignty of Venezuelan citizens abroad, Quintero acknowledged the recent release of compatriots kidnapped in El Salvador, praising the Bolivarian Republic’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts. This event reaffirms Venezuela’s commitment to protecting its people and fortifying regional ties amid ongoing imperialist pressures.

As the nation engages in this unprecedented electoral experience, Vice President Quintero called for massive voter turnout, underscoring the elections’ role in demonstrating a living, direct, and participatory democracy.

This process is a testament to the Venezuelan people’s resilience and steadfast commitment to the Bolivarian Revolution’s ideals, transforming democratic practice from mere ballot casting into an active, communal endeavor that shapes the country’s future.
