June 2, 2025 – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro publicly endorsed the Foreign Ministry’s urgent advisory calling on Venezuelan citizens to avoid traveling to the United States and encouraging those currently there to return home.

The President highlighted the serious human rights abuses faced by migrants in the U.S., describing the country as a place where basic protections for travelers and migrants are systematically denied.

This call aligns with the Bolivarian Government’s ongoing defense of migrant rights and its denunciation of imperialist policies that foster repression and violence against Latin American peoples abroad.

The text reads: #STATEMENT|| The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela warned through a statement that the United States represents a serious danger for Venezuelan and Latin American migrants.
Venezuela denounced the policies of persecution and repression faced by its people on U.S. territory, where arbitrary detentions and inhumane conditions in migration centers have been reported.

President Maduro underscored the harsh realities confronting Venezuelan migrants, many of whom have been detained in U.S. prisons under inhumane conditions. He condemned the persecution Venezuelans endure “in the streets, in schools, and in hospitals” across the United States, where they face beatings, disappearances, and systemic discrimination.

The President also recounted the case of a Chilean woman kidnapped and arrested in the U.S., leaving her child abandoned, highlighting the broader pattern of state violence against Latin American migrants. Emphasizing that “migration is not a crime, but kidnapping is,” the Venezuelan leader reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting the dignity and rights of all migrants.

This strong stance by President Maduro and the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry reflects a broader leftist critique of U.S. imperialism and its impacts on migrant communities. The Bolivarian Government continues to advocate for international solidarity and the defense of human rights, urging Venezuelans and all Latin Americans to resist the dangers posed by hostile foreign policies and to seek safety and dignity within their own sovereign nations
