During the conversation, the Bolivarian leader expressed solidarity with Qatar amid the complex situation that West Asia has faced in recent weeks.
“President Maduro expressed hope that the recently announced ceasefire between Iran and Israel will not just be a pause but the beginning of a true, structural peace agreement for the entire region,” Venezuelan diplomacy said.
For his part, the emir of Qatar said he had received President Maduro’s proposal to convene a ‘Summit for Peace and Against War’ and praised Venezuela’s diplomatic efforts in favor of regional stability.
The Qatari leader also detailed his country’s efforts to stop the genocide in Palestine and achieve lasting peace in the region.
