These international observers join their national counterparts in a combined deployment totaling approximately 1,400 observers. They will be strategically dispatched throughout Venezuela’s polling centers in the days leading up to the election.
The international delegation consists of highly respected academics, political experts, and representatives from five continents. Their presence aims to ensure transparency, build public confidence, and provide external validation of the electoral process amid continued foreign attempts at delegitimization.
The municipal elections will fill 2,806 positions, including 335 mayoralties and 2,471 council seats, with an important representation for Indigenous communities.
Rector Amoroso highlighted the significance of electoral participation as a civic duty, stating that voting amid observers is a “duty of honor to defend the Homeland of Bolívar,” referencing the Venezuelan constitution.
