During the exchange, Rodriguez conveyed the Venezuelan Government’s solidarity with Iran in the face of the grave instability and violence in the Middle East, which has placed the entire region on the brink of a dangerous escalation of war.

According to her message on the Telegram platform, the interim president reaffirmed Venezuela’s conviction that only dialogue and diplomacy can pave the way for peace, emphasizing the urgent need to resume negotiations.

He also conveyed his condolences and deep concern for the loss of civilian lives throughout the region due to the ongoing conflict, reiterating his call for respect for international law and the preservation of peace.

Text reads:I spoke by telephone with His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, to whom I conveyed our solidarity in the face of the grave situation of instability and violence that has erupted in the Middle East, which has placed the entire region on the brink of a dangerous escalation of war.

I reaffirmed our firm conviction that only dialogue and diplomacy can pave the way to peace, and I expressed our hope that negotiations will resume immediately and urgently, in strict adherence to the principles of sovereignty, independence, and the values enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations. I also conveyed my condolences and deep concern for the loss of civilian lives throughout the region due to the ongoing conflict, reiterating our call for respect for international law and the preservation of peace.

This comes in a context where the Middle East is embroiled in constant aggression by the US and Israel. World leaders have labeled this offensive “illegal and unjustifiable,” underscoring the grave violation of international law that this action represents for Tehran’s sovereignty.

Since the early hours of Saturday, February 28, Israeli and U.S. forces, with the alleged objective of “eliminating” what they described as “threats” in the region, carried out a joint bombing campaign that claimed the life of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as four high-ranking military Commanders key to the Iranian defense structure.

The human cost of the recent U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran exceeds 550 people, according to figures provided by the Red Crescent, and the number of wounded is over 700. Likewise, the bombings have devastated infrastructure such as schools and hospitals, cultural centers and cultural heritage sites, which are left in ashes due to human greed.
