On June 25, 2025, thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets in a powerful Great March for Peace, expressing their firm rejection of the ongoing armed conflict in the Middle East. The demonstration showed overwhelming support for President Nicolás Maduro’s initiative to convene a World Peace Summit aimed at ending imperialist aggression and restoring international peace and stability.

Speaking at the rally, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil declared that the world must unite to demand an immediate halt to the war fueled by imperialist and Zionist forces. “Every missile that falls against the peoples of the Middle East threatens life and humanity itself,” Gil emphasized. He echoed President Maduro’s urgent call for a Great World Summit where the international community can collectively tell Israel and US imperialism, “Enough is enough.”

Gil highlighted Venezuela’s role as the “primary voice of the voiceless,” empowered by the Bolivarian Revolution to defend the sovereignty stolen from oppressed peoples worldwide. He invoked the legacy of Simón Bolívar, urging Venezuelans and all peace-loving peoples to march forward in solidarity and resistance.

Rejecting the dominant narrative that frames the conflict as religious, the Venezuelan government insists the war is fundamentally about control over resources and the establishment of a military enclave in the region. “This is why children are being murdered,” Gil stated solemnly, underscoring the human toll of imperialist ambitions.

He called for a cessation of hostilities and urged global support for Venezuela’s peace initiative as a vital step toward ending the cycle of violence.

Jorge Rodríguez, President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, condemned Israel’s aggression and exposed the myth of its “impregnable” Iron Dome. Reflecting on the recent 12-day conflict, Rodríguez asserted that Iran’s response humbled the Zionist state, revealing Israel’s vulnerabilities.

He praised President Maduro’s peace proposal as “a proposal from the honesty of a man of peace,” and denounced Israel’s possession of nuclear weapons as a grave threat to regional security. Rodríguez demanded that multilateral organizations ensure the dismantling of Israel’s nuclear arsenal and an end to its aggression against Middle Eastern peoples.

Rodríguez stressed that “the only aggressor in West Asia is Israel,” accusing it of bombing Palestinian children and hospitals with impunity. He affirmed that peace in the region is unattainable without resolving the Palestinian conflict and recognizing Palestine’s sacred right to its land.

Venezuela’s mobilization and diplomatic efforts stand as a beacon of hope and resistance against imperialist and Zionist militarism. The Bolivarian Republic’s call for a Great World Peace Summit represents a crucial step toward dismantling the structures of oppression and building a future rooted in justice, sovereignty, and respect for human life.
