In a forceful statement issued from Caracas, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has condemned what it describes as the “piracy” and “aggression” of Israeli forces following the interception and seizure of the humanitarian vessel Madleen in international waters. The ship, part of the Freedom Flotilla, was carrying essential food and medical aid to the besieged population of Gaza.

According to the official communiqué, Venezuelan authorities accuse Israel of violating international law and attacking global solidarity efforts aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The government of President Maduro asserts that the Madleen’s mission was to deliver “food, medicine, and hope” to Palestinians enduring a prolonged blockade and military assault.

“This is an act of piracy and aggression against international solidarity, which sought to bring food, medicine, and hope to the Palestinian people,” reads the Venezuelan statement, reflecting a position echoed by progressive movements and solidarity networks worldwide.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly condemns the seizure of the ship Madleen, intercepted in international waters by Israeli occupation forces while transporting humanitarian aid destined for Gaza. This is an act of piracy and aggression against international solidarity, which sought to deliver food, medicine, and hope to the Palestinian people.

Venezuela’s condemnation comes amid what it calls an “ongoing genocide” perpetrated by the government of Benjamin Netanyahu against the Palestinian population. The statement denounces the “planned and sustained massacre” carried out by Israeli forces, and points to the “complicity and silence” of Western powers, particularly the United States and European Union, in enabling Israel’s actions.

This perspective aligns with left-wing international organizations and human rights groups that have long criticized the blockade of Gaza as collective punishment and a violation of international humanitarian law. The Venezuelan government’s position is consistent with calls from the United Nations and grassroots movements demanding an end to the blockade and accountability for war crimes.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is demanding the immediate release of the activists detained aboard the Madleen, the lifting of the Gaza blockade, and a halt to what it calls “criminal Israeli aggression against Palestine.”

Caracas frames the interception of humanitarian aid as part of a systematic effort to “exterminate a people who resist,” and urges the international community to break its silence and act in defense of Palestinian rights.

Yván Gil, Venezuela’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has echoed the official government statement through his Telegram channel, reinforcing the condemnation of Israeli actions and calling for international solidarity with the Palestinian people.
