Venezuela and China have taken a decisive step to fortify their socialist alliance, standing united against what they describe as ongoing attacks from North American imperialism. The secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, and Wu Hansheng, a senior representative of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met in Caracas to consolidate cooperation and deepen the ideological and organizational links between their parties.
During the meeting, both delegations underscored the critical importance of joint action to defend their nations’ sovereignty and progressive models. Cabello emphasized that “both China and Venezuela will continue to be targets of attack from the new United States administration, and it is the task of both parties to confront these attacks on the economies, workers, and activists, united as a single bloc”.
This sentiment was echoed by Wu Hansheng, who congratulated the PSUV on its sweeping victories in the recent parliamentary and gubernatorial elections, reaffirming China’s unwavering support for Venezuela’s revolutionary process.
Deepening Political and Worker Training
A central theme of the discussions was the expansion of activist training and the strengthening of workers’ movements. Both parties agreed to intensify the formation of political cadres, recognizing this as essential for sustaining and advancing the socialist project in both countries.
The meeting highlighted the need to bolster cooperation in the face of external aggression, particularly from the United States, which both parties accused of orchestrating destabilization efforts against progressive governments in Latin America and Asia.

The text reads: The alliances between Venezuela and the Asian giant go beyond cooperation projects. We are firmly united in the face of U.S. imperial attacks; for this reason, Diosdado Cabello described the China–Venezuela unity as a shield against foreign aggression.
The Chinese delegation, led by Wu Hansheng and accompanied by high-ranking CPC officials, praised Venezuela’s resilience and leadership in the region. Wu reiterated President Xi Jinping’s commitment to maintaining bilateral relations at the highest strategic level, viewing Venezuela as a key partner in the global struggle against imperialism. The CPC also highlighted the success of the Chinese model in achieving social well-being, presenting it as an example for other nations resisting neoliberal policies.
This meeting builds on a robust foundation of cooperation. In December 2024, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez visited Shenzhen, resulting in new agreements in energy and finance. In 2023, President Nicolás Maduro’s tour of China culminated in 31 agreements across diverse sectors, from telecommunications to agriculture, further solidifying the alliance.
Over 600 agreements have been signed between the two nations, reflecting a shared vision for development and sovereignty free from foreign intervention.
