Since the beginning of the air offensive on March 2, 826 people have died in different parts of the country and another 2,009 have been injured, 76 of them since Friday afternoon alone, the Emergency Operations Center at the Ministry of Public Health reported this Saturday.

Among the total number of deaths are 106 children, while the injured also include 327 minors.

On the other hand, casualties in the health sector have already risen to 31 dead and 51 injured, after a medical center in the southern area of Burj Qalaouiya was hit last night, where twelve doctors, paramedics and nurses died, according to data from the governmental office.

For almost two weeks, Israel has maintained an air offensive concentrated mainly in the south and east of Lebanon, as well as the outskirts of Beirut, although in recent days there have also been several attacks within the boundaries of the capital itself.

This Friday, Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over different neighborhoods of the city calling for the disarmament of the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah, which in parallel is carrying out daily limited-range attacks against northern Israel.

The leaflets, a relatively common maneuver to threaten the population of the border areas but without recent precedent in the capital, warned that Hezbollah is acting as a “shield” for Iran and urged the Lebanese to demand stability for their land.
