Two and a half hours after the attack, Russian authorities resumed vehicular traffic on the Kerch Strait Bridge.

On Tuesday, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) admitted that Ukrainian forces attacked the Crimean Bridge for the third time using underwater explosives.

About 1,100 kilograms of TNT-equivalent explosives were placed under the bridge and detonated at 4:44 local time. The blast caused damage to the bridge’s underwater support pillars. There were no civilian casualties.

“The Crimean Bridge is a completely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops,” said Vasyl Malyuk, head of Security Service of Ukraine.

The Russian Federal Security Service confirmed the arrest of a resident of the Crimean city of Feodosia who admitted that he had made a bomb to commit a terrorist attack on orders from Kyiv.

Two and a half hours after the Ukrainian terrorist attack, Russian authorities resumed vehicular traffic on the Kerch Strait Bridge, which connects the Crimean Peninsula with mainland Russia.

This was the second traffic disruption on Tuesday, after access to the bridge was closed from 6:00 a.m. local time until shortly after 9:00 a.m. Russian authorities linked the second bridge closure to the presence of a large number of Ukrainian naval drones off the Crimean coast that could target the bridge.

Since the Russian special military operation began in February 2022, Ukraine has attacked the Kerch Strait Bridge without managing to destroy or disable it on two previous occasions, in 2022 and 2023.
