Venezuela’s Minister of Defense of Defense, Gen. Vladimir Padrino López, accused the United States (U.S.) of seeking “the introduction of special forces to commit disruptive actions within the national territory; sabotage of the electrical system, gas supply, food distribution and selective assassinations.”
From the Marine Corps of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Padrino López warned about multiple forms of hostility by Washington against Caracas and reported on territorial actions to prevent the “strategic paralysis” of the South American country, as part of Operation Independence 200, in La Guaira and Carabobo.

Venezuela urges constant preparedness for real U.S. military threat
A few days after the Bolivarian government’s warning about a false flag operation against the headquarters of the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, the senior military official pointed out that the threat does not only come from the forces deployed in the Caribbean Sea, but “through an air campaign from their surface units, through drones, special forces, naval blockades and establishment of no-fly zones”.
Three ships with 4,000 U.S. troops are deployed in the region, as well as threats of land incursion against alleged “drug cartels.” On October 2, Venezuela denounced the overflight of U.S. fighter jets near its coasts. “We have detected more than 5 vectors with flight characteristics of 400 knots and flying at an altitude of 35,000 feet,” Padrino López pointed out on that occasion.
The statements of the Venezuelan Minister of Defense, on October 8, call on the population to prepare “because the irrationality with which U.S. imperialism acts is not normal, it is anti-political, anti-human, warmongering, rude, vulgar and invents things to point to the Venezuelan State as a drug trafficker and its leaders.”
During the day, Padrino López explained that work is being done on “27 territorial actions to strategically guarantee the daily activities of the country through internal control.”
These include securing oil and petrochemical complexes, oil pipelines, gas pipelines, service stations, power plants and substations, as well as maintaining order. He assured that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces have a high cohesion in the face of the U.S. threat and a plan to counter the alleged attacks.
The Independence 200 exercises seek to strengthen the country’s operational capacity and prevent the “strategic paralysis” intended by the United States by introducing special forces into Venezuelan territory. For this reason, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces are also deployed to prevent the establishment of an “enemy position” and the organization of ambushes, protecting critical points and bridges, guaranteeing the operation of the hospital health network, the transport and distribution of medicines.

In his speech, the head of the FANB stressed the falseness of the White House’s accusations against Venezuela. “They know that they are lying, just as they have lied throughout history to start war in the world, to seek resources from other parts of the world, the same they want to do with Venezuela, for its riches,” he emphasized.
The General-in-Chief stressed that the real objective of this political harassment and military threats is to “force a change of government” in the South American nation, an objective that dates back to 2015, when aggressiveness against the Bolivarian Revolution intensified, declaring the country an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the security of the United States
