Trump’s ‘Golden Dome’ threatens global strategic stability.
On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that actions by the United States and its allies are significantly increasing the risk of turning outer space into a zone of conflict.

“As a result of these destructive actions, the risk of the militarization of space and its transformation into a theater of conflict is noticeably increasing,” he said during the Moscow Conference on Non-Proliferation.
He also warned that escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East represent a blow to the authority of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Lavrov said the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran is undermining the credibility of diplomacy as a means of resolving disputes and pushing countries to consider nuclear weapons as the only way to guarantee their security in the contemporary geopolitical context.
For that reason, the Russian diplomat urged countries to preserve the nonproliferation pact by fulfilling the obligations they have previously undertaken.
Regarding the spread of insecurity into new domains, Lavrov said that the U.S. Golden Dome — the space-based missile interception system that U.S. President Donald Trump aims to establish by 2028 — represents a significant threat to global strategic stability.
The Russian warnings come at a time when Washington is demonstrating its willingness to use nonpeaceful methods to resolve conflicts.
On March 9, during a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump rejected a proposal to end the U.S.-Israeli war on the Persian nation by allowing Iran’s enriched uranium to be transferred to Russian territory.
“This is not the first time it was offered. It hasn’t been accepted. The U.S. position is we need to see the uranium secured,” a U.S. official was quoted as saying, according to Nation Press.
