Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that U.S. President Donald Trump must abandon his “disrespectful and unacceptable tone” toward Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, if he wants to reach a nuclear agreement with the Persian country.

“If President Trump is genuine about wanting a deal, he should put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of heartfelt followers.”, Araghchi said on his X account. “Good will begets good will, and respect begets respect”, he stressed.

The head of Iranian diplomacy stated that “as a people, our basic premise is very simple and straightforward: we know our worth, value our independence, and never allow anyone else to decide our destiny”. His statements come after Trump claimed the day before that he saved Khamenei’s life by not revealing his whereabouts to Israel and by not ordering U.S. armed forces to attack him.

Iran “was decimated, his three evil Nuclear Sites were obliterated, and I knew exactly where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the greatest and more powerful in the world, terminate his life. I saved him from a very ugly and ignominious death,” Trump alleged on his platform, Truth Social.

Netanyahu’s Zionist regime launched an offensive against Iran on June 13, and the two countries exchanged attacks for 12 days, while the United States struck three Iranian nuclear facilities. According to official figures, the war resulted in at least 28 civilian casualties in Israel and 627 in Iran.
