Macron Says the US Offered an Israel-Iran Ceasefire Agreement

His claim are directly addressed to his French counterpart, Trump wrote: “Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire.”

He said his return was about something “much bigger than that” and added, “Stay Tuned!”

As we’ve been reporting, the US leader earlier issued a warning on his Truth Social platform, saying: “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

The first day of work at the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, ended Monday with a jolt, following the unexpected announcement by US President Donald Trump that the conflict between Israel and Iran forced him to leave the meeting a day before its conclusion.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt announced Trump’s decision on social media at 5:30 p.m. local time (11:30 p.m. GMT) shortly after the G7 leaders posed for the traditional summit family photo.

French President Emmanuel Macron asserted Monday that the United States has offered a ceasefire to Iran and Israel and considered that seeking a political system change in Tehran would be a strategic error.

“There is an offer. Indeed, an offer of meeting and exchange has been made. There is an offer of a ceasefire and of launching more extensive talks. If the United States can obtain a ceasefire, that is a very good thing. We will have to see what else happens,” the French president said in a meeting with the press from the tourist resort where the G7 leaders’ summit is being held.
